“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'" Romans 8:15

The Bible can seem like a big long list of rules (if you don’t think that right now, go read Leviticus). So much so that it can begin to feel as though you didn’t just sign up for salvation, but slavery to the Bible and to God. This idea couldn’t be any farther from the truth and the enemy wants so badly for you to view God and His Word this way.

This verse is a great reminder of the relationship you have with God. You are not a slave to God, but instead, you are His son or daughters. He is the perfect loving Father. The final line of this verse says “And by Him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” What an incredible expression that you are able to cry to the Creator of the Universe these words!

No matter the circumstances you find yourself in today, you can stop and turn your attention to your Heavenly Father, the Creator of the Universe. He loves you so deeply and is desperately waiting for you to reciprocate that love.
