Let's Get Back To The Basics
"Early in the morning David left the flock in the care of a shepherd, loaded up, and set out, as Jesse had directed. He reached the camp as the army was going out to its battle positions, shouting the war cry." 1 Samuel 17:20
So often times we want God to do something big, when we won’t even do something basic. Some of us want to kill Goliath, but we don’t want to make deliveries.
I love David’s heart here. He doesn’t say that he’s to good to make a delivery. At this point in time he had already been anointed king! Yet, he was still willing to watch over sheep and make a delivery. To do something basic.
What are your sheep? What’s your something basic? What have you been neglecting to do that you know God has been prompting you to do? Maybe you know you are supposed to call your sister and forgive her for something you’ve been holding on to for quite a while. Maybe you need to go out of your way to show love to someone who look a little different then you.
Before God can do something big, we have to be willing to do the basics.
