Good News

Christmas day is behind you, but don't leave the story of Christmas behind with it. Turn your attention to Luke 2 where the shepherds are watching over their flocks:

"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people."

The angels tell the shepherds that the story of Christmas is good news! When reading the Bible, you can easily just see it as a book of good advice to live your life by. The thing is though, there is a very distinct difference between advice and news.

Advice implies that it is all up to you to decide. You are provided with information, and a decision must be made. News implies that it has already has been acted upon, and you are simply being informed.

Jesus has come to Earth and has defeated death. It's already done. That's good news! So, carry the good news with you past the Christmas season and into the new year!
