Feeling Stuck, Hopeless, or Depressed
Do you feel stagnant, like you're at a stand still? Do you feel like your in a dark place with no hope? Do you deal with the feeling of confusion or depression?
You're even more confused at how you can be in the place you are, feeling the way that you do. It makes sense that those who don't believe in God would feel this way, but not you. You know you shouldn't feel stuck, hopeless, or depressed. You shouldn't be fighting the thoughts you're having... so what's wrong?
Paul says this in Romans 1:21 "For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile, and their foolish hearts were darkened."
He says, "...their hearts were darkened." Why? because "they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him..."
The simple question for today is this... Are you glorifying God and continually giving thanks to him? Are you so caught up in your current situation and circumstances that you are blind to the glory of God and the good things he has done for you?
Start today by taking sometime to honor God and genuinely thank him for what he has done for you. Here a couple headliners to get you started:
- Jesus sacrificing his life for you (Salvation)
- The Word of God; the Bible as a guide (God's Word)
- The ability to communicate with your Creator (Prayer)
- That you have breath in your lungs today (Life)
God is a good God. Keep you eyes and heart fixed on him. Protect yourself from a darkened heart by thanking and glorifying God.
