Does He Have Your Attention?
You don't need to be told that life is busy. There is more than enough to keep us preoccupied. Between work, family, school, Facebook, & Snapchat, there isn't much of a dull moment. This causes a problem though... We are so busy that often times all of our problems and struggles take priority over our Creator. Our natural tendency is to let God fall to the bottom of our list, that is until we absolutely need Him, until we feel we have no other option than to cry out to Him in a prayer of desperation because everything is going wrong.
Okay, so maybe you pray more than that. You don't pray every day, but you do pray more than just in times of crisis. That's great, but if you're anything like me, you tend to use prayer as a way to get God's attention. You want to tell Him what you want and need. Steven Furtick put it best when he said, "Prayer is less about me getting God's attention and more about Him getting mine."
1 Chronicles 16:11 says, "Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always."
"Seek His face always..." Always! Are you always drawing close to your Savior? Does He have your attention? He has answers, direction, and provision for you. You just have to give Him your attention. Put down the phone for a couple minutes, and give God your undivided attention.

Timothy Keller is the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, which he started in 1989 with his wife, Kathy. He is absolutely brilliant, and I personally compare him to a modern day C.S. Lewis.
